Notes:

This Constitution/Bylaws document was prepared by the following members of the Vanderhoof Baptist Church who served on the Constitution/Bylaws Committee and given the charge of this service for the Church:

Jeff Gandee (Chairman),  Chuck Weekley,  Burl Walker,   Eric Frost,
Jerry  Theobald, W. Alan Boggs,  and  David Palmer, (Legal Advisor).

This document was adopted by unanimous vote of the membership of the Church in attendance at its regular annual business meeting on January 10, 2001, there being a quorum present.

This Constitution was amended on 10/10/2001 at the regular Church business meeting by removing the Church Covenant from the Constitution and placing it within the booklet containing the Declaration of Faith, Constitution, and Bylaws.  The Church Covenant remains as Church Policy.

Other changes were: ARTICLE V, Section II allowing for absentee voting when voting for a new Pastor; ARTICLE VI, Section I, paragraph 2 calling a new Pastor for an indefinite period instead of a one-year period; and ARTICLE XII, Section 2 allowing for adoption of new Church Policies or rescinding of old Church Policies.

ARTICLE VII, Section 2. Church Council of the Constitution was amended on 7/10/2002 at the regular Church business meeting to change the dates for the Church Council meeting.

ARTICLE VI, Section 2. Officers And Their Duties, paragraph 2 of the Constitution was amended on 10/9/2002 to define the duties of the Moderator and what to do in his/her absence, etc.

ARTICLE IV,  Section 1. Duties, was amended on 7/14/04 to replace the word Covenant with the word Policies; also, a new Section 2 was added to prohibit dual membership; and the other Sections were re-numbered accordingly.  Section 3 was amended  to add the word “faithful” before the word attendance.

ARTICLE IV,  Section 1. Duties, was amended on 10/13/04 to define who is eligible to hold offices and other important positions within the Church.

ARTICLE VI, Section 2. Officers And Their Duties, was amended on 1/12/05 to add new paragraph 8 establishing a new officer position of Corporate Statutory Agent.

ARTICLE VI, Section 2. Officers And Their Duties, paragraph 6, was amended on 10/10/07 to change the name of the office of Children's Church Coordinator to Youth Ministries Coordinator.
