SECTION 4. Special Meetings. Special meetings may be called by the Pastor or by the Chairman of the Board of Deacons or by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. A petition in writing signed by ten members of the Church being eighteen (18) years of age or older may also call special meetings. Special meetings, however, cannot be called without first announcing the purpose of the meeting on two Sundays at the worship services preceding the special meeting. No other business shall be taken up or discussed at a special meeting other than for which it was called. SECTION 5. Lords Supper. (Communion) The
Lords Supper shall be commemorated on the first Sunday of each month and at special
times during the year as the Pastor or Board of Deacons may choose. As presented in ARTICLE IX. Employees All persons being paid by this Church on a regular basis shall be considered part time employees with the exception of the Pastor. The Pastor of this Church " is treated as self-employment for social security purposes." as defined by United States Social Security Administration ("§404.1023 Ministers of churches and members of religious orders.") concerning Social Security Tax payment. ARTICLE X. Bylaws This Constitution hereby authorizes the adoption of Bylaws, which shall outline in more detail the operation of the Church. If a conflict arises between the articles of this Constitution and the adopted Bylaws, this Constitution shall prevail. ARTICLE XI. Amendments This Constitution may be revised or amended at a regular business meeting of the Church on the recommendation of a majority of the Church Council, provided two weeks notice of such proposed revision or amendment(s) shall have been given, and the proposed revision or amendment(s) shall have been discussed at the previous business meeting. A three-fourths vote of those members present is necessary to pass an amendment. ARTICLE XII. Conclusion SECTION 1. First Dates of Adoption, etc. This Constitution, adopted by the Church during its regular business meeting, on January 10, 2001 nullifies and makes void any and all constitutions, by-laws and/or directive documents executed and adopted by this Church previous to this date, except the Churchs policy on Homosexuality And The Church adopted at its January 6, 1993 business meeting. It is a separate document and remains in full effect as Church policy. SECTION 2. Adoption of New Policies or Rescinding of Old Policies A new Church Policy may be adopted or an old Church Policy may be rescinded by a three-fourths vote of the voting members of the Church at any regularly scheduled business meeting if the proposed change(s) was first read at the previous regular business meeting. 8 of 9
